  • YC Lee, Tenor - Biography

    Passionate and committed to his art, Canadian Tenor Y.C. Lee sings Art Song, Opera, Oratorio and Early Music with authentic Italian bel canto technique. He infuses these works with a warmth and finesse that lifts and soothes the soul. His three-octave range voice envelops listeners in an exquisitely pure quality of tone. Online Recordings include "Solo Dowland Project", "Solo Messiah Project" and "Solo Recital Debut". YC also performs live concerts featuring Opera, Oratorio and Art Song favourites at various venues in the Greater Toronto Area.

     

    YC has performed with Tapestry Opera, Opera Hamilton and Opera Bel Canto of York, among others. Various roles include Beppe (I Pagliacci) with Brampton Lyric Opera, Kaspar (Amahl & the Night Visitors) with No Strings Theatre, Don Basilio (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Opera Buffa & Casalmaggiore International Music Festival, and Franz (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) with Creative Artists Productions. Awards include Gold Medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Associate Diploma in Voice Performance).

    Y.C. Lee, Canadian Tenor presented a unique Live recital featuring love songs composed by John Dowland (1563-1626)

     

    Recorded Sunday February 25th, 2018. College Street United Church, Toronto.

    YC Lee, tenor performed selected love songs by John Dowland (1563-1626) with pianists Mario Ostrowski and Ann Sublett. #SoloDowlandProject represents a unique part of YC's vocal journey; a very different & equally passionate side of YC's personality & a contrast from his previous projects: #SoloMessiahProject and #SoloRecitalDebut. This vocal chamber concert was truly a one-of-a-kind intimate performance.

    Porgiamor Chamber Concerts is an ad-hoc collective of artists specializing in vocal chamber music. Proceeds from this fundraising concert were donated to College Street United Church outreach programs: "Peace of Pizza" Fridays and "Musical Instrument for Cuba"..

    This marks the third major collaborative recording project produced by Y.C. Lee. (The first being Solo Messiah Project Pt I, II & III; And the second being Solo Recital Debut Parts 1 and 2)
